Hey my zoulous and welcome to this new video on Throne and Liberty.
In this video, we are going to talk about the chillest yet still useful profession: fishing.

First of all, to start fishing you will need to equip a fishing rod and hooks.
To obtain your fishing rod, you must reach level 12 and complete the quest “Expedition Adventure”. Once this is done, you will need to find a body of water where the glowing cursor is blue, then cast your line using F.

After a short wait, a fish will bite your hook and a mini-game will begin.
To make the mini-game easier, you have a short window during which you can hook the fish using the A key by default. This will consume the fish’s first stamina bar.
Then, to reel in the fish, you will need to manage your stamina (the green bar) and move in the opposite direction of the fish. Once the fish’s stamina bar reaches 0, you will pull your loot to the surface.
Be careful: it is possible to fail the mini-game if the fish pulls your float too far to the left or right. A red indicator will warn you that you need to bring the fish back to the center before losing the catch.

*rixmome* yeah OK, but how do you get bait?

Well, there are several ways. The first one is through the Contract Token merchant, who will offer you 50 hooks for 20 tokens.

You can also obtain them as drops, for example by killing crabs, lobsters, etc., or even by chopping wood.

You can also obtain them by recycling your fish.

And finally, the Ornate Shop also offers hooks for 15 Ornate Coins for 50 hooks.

You can later upgrade your fishing rod using Nature Jade, which can be obtained through fishing. To do this, you will need to reel in small bags that have a chance to contain these stones, or large bags that are guaranteed to contain one. Once you have collected 10 stones, you can upgrade your rod to a green fishing rod, and then with 30 stones to a blue one.

Fishing rods starting from green rarity will give you a higher fishing level, making the mini-game easier.

You can also obtain the Kraken fishing rod via the Amitoi expedition “Aurora Coast”.

You also have a chance to obtain the platinum fishing rod from Mystic Portals.

When it comes to fish types, you need to pay attention to where you are fishing. You will not catch the same fish in a lake as you would in the sea.

In addition, hooks allow you to increase the chances of catching a specific type of fish or increase your overall fishing success rate.

To optimize even further, you can consume rye bread before your fishing session, which grants a 15% bonus to fishing mastery.

So all of this is interesting, but what is the point of fishing?

First of all, cooking: many fishing components are used in cooking crafts, allowing you to obtain some very useful buffs.

You also have a chance to loot Sollants, which are always useful to fund your gear score upgrades, as well as trait unlock stones, which are very important for optimizing your gear.
