Hi my zoulous and welcome to this new article.
In this video, we’re going to talk about a unit that was mocked for a long time in Conqueror’s Blade but that now has some genuinely interesting capabilities! I present to you the Kevthuuls!
Obtaining Kevthuuls cavalry
Let’s start with how to obtain them.
The Kevthuuls can be unlocked through the Season 1 challenges. To do so, you must first unlock the Season T3 units.Once you have acquired the Kevthuuls cavalry, there are several points to go over.
Veterancy Kevthuuls cavalry
Let’s talk about veterancy
The top line focuses more on ranged guerrilla gameplay, with increased range, reduced cooldown on the charge and therefore on the arrow volley.
It also provides more damage against infantry and a better rate of fire.
As for the bottom line, it focuses more on the unit’s survivability, with some cooldown reductions and additional damage.
Personally, I recommend the top line because this unit is clearly meant to harass as much as possible without taking direct fights. It’s therefore not very useful to increase its defensive stats, and much more interesting to have a better rate of fire and extended range.
Doctrines Kevthuuls cavalry
Regarding doctrines
I recommend using the Burning V doctrine, which increases the unit’s burn damage applied by its two skills. The Carnage V doctrine is also very strong, as it reduces the cooldown of Skill 1 while adding extra damage.
You can also add the Rush to Victory doctrine, which reduces damage from infantry units and lance charge cavalry by 80% and immobilizes them for 2 seconds when you hit them in melee. Finally, the Gallop V doctrine greatly increases your movement speed, allowing you to escape in case of danger.
Masteries Kevthuuls cavalry
Let’s move on to masteries

The Kevthuuls also have an important mastery that increases their overall stats but, more importantly, the Devastating Flames node adds a new melee skill that allows you to deal damage and burn enemies (which combos well with the Rush to Victory rune).
The final node allows you to deal increased damage when attacking a burning unit and enables burn stacks to spread to nearby enemies.
That’s it for customizing the Kevthuuls cavalry - now let’s move on to their uses.
Role of the Kevthuuls cavalry
Overall, the Kevthuuls are a guerrilla unit. They allow you to continuously harass a position since they don’t have traditional ammunition, and with Skill 1 they can fire flaming arrows. Your primary role is therefore to use Skill 1 either on yourself to prevent your Kevthuuls from advancing (since this skill also functions as a charge) or recall them by pressing X before contact.
The Kevthuuls’ mobility allows you to retreat or even escape if cavalry or infantry attempts to shut you down.
Skill 2 deals decent damage and should only be used if you cannot escape, if you find an isolated unit, or if you see a unit vulnerable to fire (for example, Rattan-type units).
We’ve discussed the general role of the Kevthuuls, but let’s take a closer look at their skills to better understand how to use them.
Formations Kevthuuls cavalry
Let’s talk about formations. The Kevthuuls cavalry have 2 formations. The dispersed formation makes them harder to catch for enemy cavalry or infantry. You also have the Arrowhead formation, which can be useful in tighter areas to concentrate your DPS in one spot. However, I recommend the first formation, as it better fits the unit’s guerrilla playstyle.
Passives Kevthuuls cavalry
Quick look at the passives. The Kevthuuls have 1 passive: Bows and Blades. Essentially, this passive simply indicates that the unit uses both melee and ranged weapons.
Second passive: Swamp. This passive provides advantages against cavalry, increasing damage dealt to cavalry by 26% and applying a 45% slow to them. Be careful though — despite this passive, the unit is not true anti-cavalry and will disappear very quickly if forced into direct confrontation.
