Hi my zoulous and welcome to this new video.
In this video, we are going to talk more specifically about the methods to become MVP, meaning the best player of the match.
And we’ll start with the preparation before the battle.
Unit optimization
When I talk about optimized units, I mean units that are at maximum level, equipped with the best doctrines you own, and with a supply level always above 50%.
Of course, I’m not telling you to only play your best units, as you also need to discover and level up your troops.
But try as much as possible to limit the number of units you are leveling at the same time in order to move toward an optimal composition.
Hero optimization
First of all, stats. This point depends on you and your potential strategy.
A longsword and shield hero will tend to invest a significant amount into armor, while an archer will focus more on agility. There is no miracle recipe here. Every player has their own playstyle, and I recommend trying several builds and stat distributions to fully master your class.
In addition to stats, your hero has armor and a weapon that you should of course upgrade whenever possible.
Don’t forget to repair your gear when it is damaged, otherwise you lose a huge amount of defense and attack.
Last point regarding your hero: don’t forget to take care of your horses by crafting their armor and, of course, performing regular maintenance.
Have a versatile composition
It sometimes happens that some players invest everything into a single type of unit (especially ranged troops that deal heavy damage) but that cannot, for example, push on their own.
I personally recommend having one shield unit, one fast unit such as cavalry or shock infantry, and another unit of your choice (this can be a ranged unit, a specialized unit like Falconetti, or any other unit).
Why be versatile? First, to adapt to the situation and have a positive impact on the match.
But also because the calculation of battle points depends on several criteria that we will discuss a bit later.
Before getting to the core of the topic, here are a few small tips.
Weather
Pay attention to the weather. For example, fire archers and arquebusiers are negatively affected by rain and will deal less damage during the battle.
Map awareness
Observe the map before the battle. If the map is rather open, bringing cavalry might be a good idea; on the other hand, if it is closed, shields and pikemen may be more effective choices.
It’s true that it can sometimes be difficult to adapt your troops quickly due to lack of time, and that’s exactly why Conqueror’s Blade provides configurations that allow you to quickly switch compositions.
Actions to become MVP
Now that we are prepared, we can move on to the actions required to become MVP.
As you might expect, we will list all the criteria that are taken into account when calculating battle points.
- First point: hero kills performed by you.
- Second point: your number of deaths.
- Third point: your number of assists, meaning how many times you helped an allied hero kill an enemy hero.
- Fourth point: the number of enemy units you kill.
- Fifth point: the number of artillery pieces destroyed. This includes cannons, culverins, mortars, grapeshot cannons, etc.
- And the last visible point: participation points, which in attack correspond to the number of capture points, whether supply points or standard points, as well as towers and battering rams you help deploy.
In defense, these are anti-cap points, meaning when an enemy hero tries to capture a point but you or your units are standing on it.
*weird voice* But the calculation is completely bugged, I always get more kills but I’m never MVP.
Well, if we only look at the points visible directly in the report, one might think so.
But there are still two elements to take into account: damage taken and damage dealt.
To check them, click on one of the player names in the scoreboard and then compare it to your own score.
You’ll see that the players who are ‘unfairly’ ahead of you are actually legitimate.
That’s it for the criteria, let’s now move on to the advice.
Team play
The first piece of advice is obvious but worth repeating:
Play with your allies. Don’t rush alone without checking what troops are available around you to execute a push.
Scouting
Second tip: always keep an eye on the map.
Simply press Tab to observe enemy and allied movements and deduce where the next major fight will take place or where a weak front might be worth attacking.
Use artillery
Whether it’s the trebuchet or various cannons.
Artillery can unlock stalled situations, so don’t hesitate to place them in large numbers.
Conclusion
To conclude briefly, MVP status is awarded to the player with the best overall average across all the criteria discussed above.
