Hello my fellow warlords and welcome to this new article. This time, we're going to talk about the new season of Conqueror's Blade as well as Conqueror's Blade 2.0.

Changes on the Classic Server

First of all, the new season of Conqueror's Blade is coming out this June. In a pretty classic fashion, we'll find seasonal units on live servers—probably 2 or 3 units themed around the Three Kingdoms—along with thematic events, ongoing class balancing, and finally, the 7th anniversary of Conqueror's Blade, which will likely bring plenty of rewards.
But all of this is pretty standard, and that's not what you're here for.

Changes for 2.0

Overview

In fact, the real change lies elsewhere. For this 2.0 version, Conqueror's Blade is going to create a thematic and presumably temporary server packed with massive changes.

Let's make it clear right away: this isn't a brand-new game. You will still control units with competing heroes, but the overall context—meaning the units, heroes, and rules—will be completely different.

Another concern raised by many veterans is what will happen to existing characters.

Well, no need to worry! Legacy players will retain 100% of the progress they've accumulated over the past 7 years (Units, Doctrines, Attire, Honor, resources).

Classic servers will receive their updates as usual. Furthermore, it was specified in the latest FAQ that certain hero or unit skins can be used on the Three Kingdoms battlefield if you have already unlocked them on the live server.
Similarly, certain skins you unlock on the Three Kingdoms server will also become available on the live server later on.

Territory War

Regarding Territory Wars, if you participate in them on the Three Kingdoms server, you will earn rewards that will then be transferred to the live server.

Battle Pass

Another point, this time on the economic side: purchasing the Battle Pass will apply to both servers (classic and seasonal), so no double purchase is required. Likewise, whether you play on the classic or seasonal server, your Battle Pass will progress on both sides.

Conqueror's Blade: Three Kingdoms Classes

Let's talk a bit about classes. Most of the classes for Three Kingdoms have been completely reworked or even merged, and brand-new ones have appeared.

Dual Swords

First up, Dual Swords.
Based on the teaser, it seems to be a pretty dynamic class featuring quick melee strikes and a few ranged attacks. Some animations might strongly remind you of the Dual Blades in particular.

Crossbow

The second weapon is the Crossbow.
This weapon appears to be designed more for support; it will likely slow down enemies, potentially apply debuffs, and deal damage at mid-range. I think it could be compared to the Musket.

One-Handed Sword

The third weapon is the One-Handed Sword.
From what we can see in the trailer, the One-Handed Sword can unleash AOE attacks and then dive straight into the fray to deal damage. Personally, I don't really see an existing class associated with this fighting style.

Halberd

The fourth weapon is the Halberd.
Beyond the impressive visuals of its animations, the weapon seems to have slower movements but is capable of cleaving in an AOE as well as dealing heavy damage.

And that's it for the 4 new classes, BUT that's not all because certain classic classes are also being modified, at least within the context of Three Kingdoms.

Shortsword & Shield

First of all, the Shortsword & Shield.
Here, we can notice the use of the dragon skill + 2 unknown skills, notably an energy wall that will likely be useful for managing enemy projectiles. This class will therefore probably act as a frontline class.

Pike

Next, let's move on to the Pike.
This seems to be a fusion between the Pike and the Spear. We can imagine that this class will be able to move quickly on horseback and perform charges on enemies; furthermore, it looks quite agile, much like the Pike on the classic server.

Guandao

The 3rd classic modified class is the Guandao.
This weapon appears to be very similar to the Halberd, with relatively slow movements and probably massive AOE damage. However, we can spot skills that look like charge attacks. We'll have to see how it turns out upon release.

Bow

And the final class, the Bow.
A fusion between the Shortbow and the Longbow, it will likely play the role of a sniper targeting specific units or heroes, and having access to Shortbow skills might allow it to fight more easily in close quarters.

Conqueror's Blade: Three Kingdoms Units

Let's briefly move on to units. As mentioned before, units will be strictly limited to those from the Three Kingdoms era.
We know from the teasers that there will be at least 10 different units. We also know there will be a regional recruitment system, though no specific details have been given yet, so we'll have to look closely into it later.

Territory War

Regarding GvG, it's going to be very different. First, you have the concept of Factions. According to the information we have, it will be possible for Houses to join a faction or create one. The goal will be to expand your territory as much as possible.

If the shared information is anything to go by, there will be a much stronger focus on management on the open world map. This means handling supply lines and protecting resource convoys. Also, according to the article, it seems it will be possible to specialize in roles like Logistics, Escort, Scout Assault, etc.

The environment will also play a role. You will consume fewer supplies when traveling on roads, but you will be visible. Alternatively, you can choose to go through forests where you'll be less visible, but you'll consume more supplies.

Additionally, it will be possible to upgrade fiefs, meaning increasing fortifications or creating structures that alter the topography, and everything built will directly impact the battle once it is launched.

Of course, the open world is completely different, featuring new regions and, hopefully, new maps.

Regarding battles, it looks like there will be a new Morale mechanic. We already knew about morale in classic Conqueror's Blade—where if you don't have enough players left in a battle, morale drops, and if it hits 0, you automatically lose—but I assume it will work differently here, though we don't have more details for now.

Important note, whether you are a new player or a veteran: you will need to create a new character, which ensures a welcome level playing field here.

Additional information: the concept of lines (channels) for a server has been removed in Three Kingdoms. It will no longer be necessary to send spies across different lines to scout enemy movements; everything will happen within the exact same world instance.

To conclude, I find this expansion very interesting and I'm very curious to discover all the content.
