A strong hybrid unit for teamfights, the Queen is considered a DPS; it should be used as a follow-up, for flanking, or even for back-line attacks.
Hello my Zoulous and welcome to this new article.
In this article, we are going to talk about a unit that is making a comeback: the Queen's Knights
Obtaining Queen Knight
Unit unlocked via the Avalon season (Caradocs and Perceval required).
Let's start with how to obtain them.
The Queen's Knights are unlockable via Season 17: Avalon
You will need to complete the Caradocs and Perceval quests before you can unlock them.
Once the Queen Knight have been acquired, there are several points to look at.
Veterancy Queen Knight
Top line recommended for playing around skill 1.
Let's talk about Veterancy
The Queen's Knights have 2 veterancy lines. The top line focuses on improving the 'Run'em Through' skill, and the bottom line focuses more on the 'Bash & Thrust' skill.
Here, there is no debate: the strength of the Queens comes from the invulnerability of skill 1, 'Run'em Through', therefore: top line.
Doctrines Queen Knight
Recommended hybrid build: resistance with a unit doctrine + dragon and the rest in DPS.
Regarding doctrines
Regarding doctrines, you must absolutely equip the battle doctrine that grants a block that cannot be broken during 'Run'em Through' for the next 2 seconds.
Next, you can add the anti-infantry doctrine + the unit damage doctrine. Finally, I recommend taking the Dragon doctrine which increases resistance, along with an influence doctrine.
Role of the Queen Knight
A follow-up unit that must enter after the frontline to maximize damage and stay alive to provide constant damage.
The Queen is considered a DPS; it should if possible enter as a second-line unit, on a flank, or even into the enemy back-line.
Once you are practically in contact, launch your skill 1 and wait for your Queen's Knight to complete its full combo.
Once done, you can press 2 and then relaunch 1. Note that your Queen's Knight is invulnerable during the first second of the activation of skill 1.
You can therefore use it, for example, to counter cavalry with the right timing.
We have discussed the role of the Queen's Knights in general, but let's take a look at the different skills to better understand how to use them.
Formations Queen Knight
Dispersed formation for width coverage, Guard formation for concentrated burst depending on the fight situation.
Let's move on to the formation. The Queen Knight have 2 formations.Dispersed formation: Concretely, the Queen's Knights will take up more space. This can be interesting against cavalry charging you, to avoid losing your entire unit if you miss the timing of skill 1. This formation can also allow you to take flanks.
The second formation, Block. This formation is tighter and will allow for better damage concentration; it can be useful, for example, to one-shot a hero quickly.
Skill Queen Knight
Alternating between 1 and 2 once the animation is finished; don't forget the dragon after 1 second.
First skill, 'Run'em Through'. This is the unit's core skill. Concretely, when you press it, the Queen performs an attack combo and, as mentioned before, will be invincible for 1 second. Once in combat, this is the skill to launch as soon as it is available. Be careful to wait for the right moment; the best players will try to bait you into using it so they can retreat afterwards.
Second skill, 'Bash & Thrust'. This skill allows you to deal some damage and apply shield break; it should be launched right after the skill 1 combo.
Third skill, 'Ironsides'. This skill allows you to increase your resistances. Remember that you are invulnerable during the first second of skill 1, so try if possible to activate it after that second to hold out as long as possible.
