Hey my zoulous and welcome to this new video! Today we’re going to talk about the different useful commands in Conqueror's Blade! Most of them you probably already know, but I’m sure some commands may have slipped past you :)

The essentials

Unit orders

And we’ll start right away with the essentials, meaning unit orders!

Locking your unit in place

The first order allows you to lock your unit in position using the X key. With a single press, your unit will move and stop around you. If you hold the key, you’ll be able to send your unit anywhere within your field of vision. You can then manage its orientation using the left and right keys.
By default, if you press the X key twice quickly, you will switch to the next formation. I recommend disabling this option, as most of the time this formation change is unintentional.

Follow commander

Second order: Follow commander. With this order, your units won’t stay in place and will simply follow you.

Attack

Third order: ‘Attack’. Not much complexity here—if your units are melee, they will break formation and attack the nearest enemy units.

Retreat

Fourth order: Retreat. When your warlord dies, you have the option to pull back your units simply by holding B for a few seconds.

Note that if you don’t do this, your units will retreat automatically when your hero’s respawn timer reaches 5 seconds. In some situations, it can be useful to retreat them early, both to keep them alive and to have them immediately available when your warlord is resurrected.

Formations

Fifth order: Formations. Most units have formations that allow them to adapt to the current situation. For example, a shield wall can line up to block a wide access path but will be vulnerable from behind.

It can also switch to a schiltron formation, making it more vulnerable to cavalry, for example.
To change formations, you’ll need to press the F1, F2, F3 keys, etc., depending on how many formations the unit has. Once a formation is selected, your unit will remain in that formation every time you use the X key.

Unit skills

Sixth order: Unit skills. To activate your units’ skills, simply press the 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 keys depending on how many skills they have.

Weapon switching

Seventh order: Weapon switching. By pressing 5, some units can switch weapons. This is notably the case for Reapers, allowing access to different damage types, for example. You can also do this with your archers / crossbowmen, etc., to switch them to melee combat.
*Rixmome* But why would you want my ranged units to go melee?!
Quite simply to prevent them from firing projectiles when the enemy is protected by a shield wall or is otherwise hard to hit.

Interaction

Eighth order: Interaction. When you press Ctrl, you enter interaction mode for your units, allowing you—after clicking—to push a tower or battering ram, order your units to climb ladders, or command them to move to a supply point.

Hero commands

Let’s now quickly go over hero commands:

- B: Call your horse.
- F: Interact with ladders, artillery, gate mechanisms, or the supply point.
- Shift: Make your hero run.
- Double-tap the right movement key to dodge right, and the same applies to the left.
- Hold G, then select to place artillery you own or to fire a trebuchet.
- Right click to block or perform a melee attack.

Gathering information

Next, let’s talk about gathering information.
- Tab allows you to access the minimap, see the movements of your allies and enemies, check which units are engaged, how many heroes are still alive, how many units have died, how many remain (Note: this information is only useful in siege / field battles where unit numbers are limited.
In GvG, however, there is the concept of rotation, meaning units are more or less infinite), and finally which units you still have available.
- You can also right-click on the map to place a ping, for example to indicate danger or give directions.
- You can also press W to get a global view, allowing you to better take terrain topology into account.

Comfort keys

We’re done with the essential keys, now let’s move on to the so-called ‘comfort’ keys.

- The right parenthesis key and the equals key allow you to adjust the size of the minimap in the bottom right.
- The Alt key lets you free your cursor to use the interface
- W in town allows quick access to the current quest
- Shift + click lets you display an item in chat to share it, for example
- In the open world, Ctrl + click allows you to enter a camp or place a marker
- When chat is open, press TAB to quickly switch channels

I obviously didn’t cover interface shortcuts like opening the inventory or hero skill shortcuts, as they don’t seem relevant here.

C’est already the end of this article—I hope you enjoyed it. Don’t forget the thumbs up if you liked it, and if you want to follow the channel, subscribe! I remind you that you can use the code ZYX515 to get access to some in-game benefits for new players, or ZYL515 for players who haven’t launched the game in the last month
