Hi my zoulous and welcome to this new article.
In this video we are going to talk about an interesting but often forgotten anti-cavalry unit. I present to you the Camel lancers !

Obtaining Camel lancers

Let’s start with how to obtain them.
The Camel lancers can be unlocked through season 14 – Scorpio. You will first need to unlock the Jangjus unit and then complete the various quests for the camels.

Once the Camel lancers are acquired, there are several points to go over.

Veterancies Camel lancers

Let’s talk about veterancies

The Camel lancers have 2 veterancy paths.
Here we will mainly focus on the bottom path, especially for the last point which allows you to launch enemy soldiers into the air.

Doctrines Camel lancers

Regarding doctrines

- You can equip the combat doctrine, mainly for the 15% HP restoration when the unit lands 6 hits. Just for information, a camel has around 28k HP, which results in a heal of about 4200 HP, which is clearly not negligible.
- In addition, I recommend percentage-based damage reduction with health and resistance doctrines.
- You can then add the unit doctrine that increases all resistances as well as another damage reduction doctrine.
- You can also add an influence doctrine, or why not a health and piercing/slashing resistance doctrine, or a doctrine that increases damage to heroes or units.

Role of Camel lancers

The camel has roughly two different ways of being played.

The first one is anchoring. This allows the camel to be immune to most crowd control effects and to apply fear to riders within a 7-meter radius around each model.
This effect is extremely powerful as it allows you to immobilize enemy cavalry in order to neutralize them.Be aware that during the anchoring animation, camels rotate to face the closest unit for each individual model. This means that sometimes the camels may end up facing away from the cavalry, resulting in only the fear damage being applied.
To deal with this issue, you can quickly unanchor and re-anchor them to maintain control over the cavalry while repositioning your camels.

The second mode is the charge.
Camel charges are different from standard cavalry charges.
Camels will spread out and circle around their target.
This mode is particularly effective against infantry.
An interesting effect: the charge occasionally triggers knockdowns, disrupting enemy formations and potentially putting them in a very difficult situation.
Be careful, camels are vulnerable to anti-cavalry units. Unless you are hitting from the side or the back of an already engaged unit, avoid charging near anchored pikemen.

Formations Camel lancers

Let’s move on to formations. Camels have 2 formations.First, the dispersed formation allows you to cover more ground and catch more cavalry. It is mainly used in open areas to cover the backline or flanks.
In addition, if you picked the middle veterancy, you gain a 10% reduction in damage taken from infantry while in this formation.
As for the tight formation, it is effective in confined areas and allows you to eliminate cavalry more efficiently. It can also be useful to activate before using your 2 skill in order to break through the enemy defense upon contact.
If you chose the top path, you will also gain a 10% bonus to damage dealt to infantry.

Third formation: Column. The Iron Reapers now have tight ranks. This formation is usablein choke points. It can also be used to engage a shield wall in tight formation. Be careful of nearby heroes who may potentially cancel the charge entirely.
Let’s continue with passives. Camels have 4 passives.
The first one, Momentum, makes them highly resistant to crowd control effects.

The second one, Anti-cavalry, causes enemy cavalry to rear up when anchoring and also when the unit performs an auto attack.
Third passive, Reserve Circulation: every 2 seconds, camels recover 1% of their maximum HP. This represents between 250 and 300 HP.
Fourth passive, Thick Fur. Be careful, this passive is actually a debuff. Camels are extremely vulnerable to fire.
You should therefore stay as far away as possible from Siphonarios, Khevthuls, Pyro Archers, and anything that can produce flames.

I remind you that you can use the code ZYX515 to gain access to a few in-game benefits for new players, or ZYL515 for players who haven’t launched the game in over a month
