Fortebraccio pikemen are very good anti-cavalry; in most cases, you'll play them in the F1 formation. This formation allows you to deal with cavalry over a fairly wide area. Another advantage is that if you press F1 and then Anchor, your forte will anchor itself where it is currently located, allowing you to react relatively quickly to threats.
